First of all I gotta say that this is not the way he plays it live...with dropped D and stuff. But this sounds to 99% correct and is easier to play. Here it is:
Verse: GD/FEm7Cadd9 I know exactly how you feel you were this close to closing deals
GD/F when everything fell from out your hands
Em7Cadd9 you were forced to decide on other plans now
GD/FEm7Cadd9 you figured it best to just ignore it otherwise you're only living for it
GD/F and if anyone ever wondered why you did it
Em7Cadd9 you'd swear they never know you sold your soul to the
Em7 D/F (only play E string here once) burning, burning, burning, burning bridges
(The second verse is played the same way)
you know exactly what I want so I don't have to be so damn upfront no matter the moment we decide to make our minds up I know a man who may need a new assignment to hand in his heart and take his last vacation attempting to spoil imagination if anyone ever wonders where he went I wouldn't say that he spent his time driving over
Em7 D/F (play normal pattern) burning, burning, burning bridges
Cadd9 burning, burning which is
C(1) (strum C(1) down once) nothing more than a longing for
Em7D/FCadd9 being uninvoooo-oooooo-oolved
Em7D/FCadd9C(1) uninvoooo-oooooo-oooooo-oolved
Em7D/FCadd9 uninvooooooo-ooooo-ooolved uninvolved (same as above)
GD/FEm7Cadd9 oh, desiii-re can cause heart attacks oh, desire can cause heart attacks oh, desire can cause heart attacks oh, desire, it won't bring you back
