THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SUN by Janis Ian

(capo on 4)

Verse 1:
(G) Leaving on a boat for the only other side of the (Am) ocean,
(D) I'll bet you in the morning you (D7) won't even know I'm (G) gone.
Tired of living here in the middle of our mixed e- (Am) -otion.
(D) Might as well be leaving on the other side of the (G) sun. (G7)

Chorus:
(C) Leaving with a feeling
I don't how I'm dealing
with (Bm) loving you,
'though (E7) once I knew
the (Am) the special way
and (D7) what to do
to (G) make you stay
for- (G7) -ever and ever.
(C) Even as I'm leaving
I'll never start believing
you (Bm) are the one
who can (E7) make me laugh
and can (Am) bring me back
from the (D7) only other side of the (G) sun.

Verse 2:
Rollin'down the river I hope I can deliver the morning,
wishing on a star for the sun to come out and play.
Funny when it's over you really don't remember the warning.
I might as well be living out beyond our milky way.

Chorus
