One Morning In May (Public Domain, arr. James Taylor ) AGDA One morning, one morning, one morning in May AGDE I spied a young couple, they were making their way AF#mDA One was a maiden, so bright and so fair ADEA and the other was a soldier and a brave volunteer
AGDA "Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning," said he AGDE "And where are you going, My pretty lady?" AF#mDA "I'm going out a-walking on the banks of the sea ADEA Just to see the waters gliding, hear the Nightingale sing."
AGDA Now they had not been standing but a minute or two AGDE When out of his knapsack a fiddle he drew AF#mDA And the tune that he played made the valleys all ring ADEA "O hark," cried the maiden, "hear the Nightingale sing."
AGDA "O maiden, fair maiden, it's time to give o'er." AGDE "O no, kind soldier, please play one tune more AF#mDA For I'd rather hear your fiddle at the touch of one string ADEA Than to see the waters gliding, hear the Nightingale sing."
AGDA "O soldier, kind soldier, will you marry me?" AGDE "O no, pretty maiden, that never shall be; AF#mDA I've a wife now in London and children twice three ADEA Two wives and the army's too many for me."
AGDA "Well, I'll go back to London and I'll stay there for a year AGDE It's often that I'll think of you, my little dear AF#mDA And if ever I return, it will be in the spring ADEA Just to see the waters gliding, hear the Nightingale sing." ADEA to see the waters gliding, hear the Nightingale sing."
