Lighthouse James Taylor 1975
Off the coast of Africa, [ D A4 A ] bound for South America [ Bm F#m7 ] A world away from here [ GA4A ] Is a ship that sails the sea [ D A4 A ] Is a man who's just like me [ Bm F#m7 ] And I wish that I was there [ G A G/D D A/D ]
I'm a lonely lighthouse-not a ship out in the night [ D A/D C/D G ] I'm watching the sea [ A Bm ] She's come half-way round the world to see the light [ D A/D C/D G ] and to stay away from me [ A7sus4 A7 G/D D A/D ] There is A shipwreck lying at my feet [ BmAG, DA/DG ] Some weary refugee from the rolling deep [ Bm A G/D D A/D ] Ah, would you lose it all and fall for me? [ Bm F#7sus4 F#7 Bm7 E7 ]
Couldn't we shine? [ G/D ] I'm rolling all my golden moments into one [ D A/D C/D ] Like to shine like the sun for one more summer day [ G/D D A/D C/D ] Shine like a lighthouse for one last summer night [ G/D D A/D C/D ] Flashing on, flashing on, fading away [ G/D D A/D C/D ] [ G/D ]
Well if you feel lost and lonely and don't know where to go [ D A/D C/D G ] and you hear this song on the radio [ A Bm ] Or even if you're feeling healthy and strong [ D A/D C/D G ] you might like to sing along [ A7sus4 A7 G/D D A/D ] But just because I might be standing here [ Bm A G, D A/D G ] That don't mean I won't be wrong this time [ Bm A G/D D A/D ] You could follow me and lose your mind [ Bm F#7sus4 F#7 Bm7 E7 ] (repeat Chorus)
Off the coast of Africa, [ D A4 A ] bound for South America [ Bm F#m7 ] A world away from here [ GA4A ] Is a ship that sails the sea [ D A4 A ] Is a man who's just like me [ Bm F#m7 ] And I wish that I was there [ G A ||: G/D D A/D C/D :|| ]
