Harry Edward Nilsson III (born June 15, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York - died January 15, 1994), usually credited as simply Nilsson, was an American singer-songwriter with a three octave vocal range. He won Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Male Vocal Performance for "Everybody's Talkin'" (1970) and "Without You" (1973), also his two biggest hits. Although both the aforementioned songs were composed by others, he was a talented songwriter in his own right, having written "One", a hit single for Three Dog Night.

FAD7GC7F They call him the laughin' man, with the laughin' plan AD7GC7F He's got a laughin' place and a laughin' face
C7G7C7G7 If trouble tries to trouble in and tries to snake its rattle in C7G7C7G7 The laughin' man begins to grin and trouble runs away G7D7G7D7 And when the devil tries to creep into his dreams and tries to sleep G7D7G7D7 The laughin' man a dream away a slack, a slack a day
But the laughin' man uses his laughin' plan He's got a laughin' place and a laughin' face So the Laughin' man uses his laughin' plan He just grins and smiles the laugin' man's way Then he makes the devil curse and run away
So when you're feeling down and feelin' blue Just think of what the laughin' man might do Just draw yourself a nice and cozy bath Then look in the mirror and laugh, laugh, laugh
