Hank Green (May 5, 1980) is one of the two founders of the video blog project Brotherhood 2.0 that inspired the community of cool nerds known as Nerdfighters. Hank wrote many of his songs for his Brotherhood 2.0 videos. He and Alan Lastufka co-own DFTBA Records, a label that signs successful YouTube-based musicians. Both Hank and John Green continue to make videos and their joint YouTube account can be found at http://youtube.com/vlogbrothers. Hank's music can be found at http://DFTBA.com
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
This song is not too difficult to learn to play (the lyrics are a bit tricky, but it's a DARN good song!) I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, you can email me at [email protected] and I plan on posting a video lesson soon.
CCF A quark is a fundamental constituent of matter GFC Observed in 1968 through deep elastic scatter. CCF We found that protons aren't as simple as we thought. GFC We thought they were solid particles but they are not.
CCF Protons in fact are made up of three separate pieces. GFC It just gets more confusing as our knowledge increases. CCF But that is what a quark is; It's a piece of a proton, GFC And they also make up other things including the neutron.
CCF Oh, up, down, strange, charm, top, bottom GFC If you don't know what a quark is, it don't matter you still got 'em. CCF And with leptons and bosons, unless something's amiss, GFC They make up everything that we can see and that we know exists.
CCF Things made up of quarks including protons and neutrons GFC Are composite particles that physicists call hadrons. CCF Many types of hadrons are theoretically described, GFC But most exist for only very brief amounts of time.
CCF Quarks have electric charge, color charge, mass and spin, GFC And having color charge means they exist solely inside of CCF Other kinds of particles and cannot exist alone. GFC Which is why quarks have never been studied on their own.
CCF Up, down, strange, charm, top, bottom GFC If you don't know what a quark is, it don't matter you still got 'em. CCF And with leptons and bosons, unless something's amiss, GFC They make up everything that we can see and that we know exists.
CCF Quarks can join together in two different ways, GFC Baryons and Mesons, but most instantly decay. CCF If a particle has three quarks, then it's a baryon, GFC If there's one quark and and anti-quark, then it is a meson. CCF These tiny bits of matter are a part of almost everything GFC And there is no unified theory to make it less confusing. CCF But the fact that we've identified that they exist at all GFC Is so god damn remarkable that I just sit in awe.
CCF Oh, up, down, strange, charm, top, bottom GFC If you don't know what a quark is, it don't matter you still got 'em. CCF And with leptons and bosons, unless something's amiss, GFC They make up everything that we can see and that we know exists.
