Backwoods Barbie Written and recorded by Dolly Parton
GC I grew up poor and ragged just a simple country girl GD7 I wanted to be pretty more than anything in the world CGC Like Barbie or the models in the Fredrick's catalog GD7G From rags to wishes in my dreams I could have it all
CG I'm just a backwoods Barbie too much makeup too much hair CGD7 Don't be fooled by thinking that the goods are not all there CGC Don't let these false eyelashes lead you to believe GD7G That I'm as shallow as I look cause I run true and deep
C I've always been misunderstood because of how I look GD7 Don't judge me by the cover cause I'm a real good book CGC So read into it what you will but see me as I am GD7G The way I look is just a country girl's idea of glam
CG I'm just a backwoods Barbie in a push-up bra and heels CGD7 I might look artificial but where it counts I'm real CGC And I'm all dolled up and hoping for a chance to prove my worth GD7G And even backwoods Barbie's get their feelings hurt
CG I'm just a backwoods Barbie too much makeup too much hair CGD7 Don't be fooled by thinking that the goods are not all there CGC Yes I can see where I could be misjudged upon first glance GD7G But even backwoods Barbie's deserve a second chance
CGD7C I'm just a backwoods Barbie just asking for a chance G Just a backwoods Barbie
