Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer and actor. Regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King".
Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, and relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, with his family when he was 13 years old. His music career began there in 1954, recording at Sun Records with producer Sam Phillips, who wanted to bring the sound of African American music to a wider audience.

Song = love song of the year Artist = Elvis Presley Album = Promised Land (1975) Tabbed by = Stewart Garner- Jones This is my first tab so it may be a little rough
DE7 I used to laugh when I should cry A7D I used to let these feelings pass me by E7 But now that I believe them I got no-one to leave them to me A7D You see I traded love for what I thought must be free
DE7 So I confess my loneliness A7D And I guess I've lost the best of the year E7 That I have lost it through my fingers like a golden breath of air A7D If I cared I wouldn't be singing this love song of the year
FBmD7 I know the time cannot erase the days GG7D Love is past and I've gone away B7E7 From now on I'll make it very clear A7D Cos' I don't want to write another love song of the year
It's a lonely song and not too clear But to me it's very dear I guess this song can only be my feelings went out in the sea of love To me this has got to be the love song of the year
I know the time cannot erase the days Love is past and I've gone away From now on I'll make it very clear Cos' I don't want to write another love song of the year
I used to laugh I used to cry I used to laugh, these feelings passed me by From now on I'll make it very clear cos' I don't want to write Another love song of the year
