Ben Howard (born 24 April 1987) is an English singer-songwriter, born in London. He moved to Totnes, Devon, in his teens. Howard's musically-inclined parents exposed him at a young age to their favourite records from singer-songwriter artists such as Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and John Martyn. Howard began writing his own songs and after a short spell studying journalism, he decided in 2009 at the age of 21 to become a full-time musician.

[Verse 1] CEm And the birds still sing outside GD These, these windows where we sat together CEm Like nothing ever happened here, oh GD The white house on the hill black clouds of weather CEm And the church spire over the river GD She still sits there warm in the evening glow CEm But you don't care about these scenes I treasure GD About these west winds. I know. I know
[Chorus] GD Seems everything around here C Stays like stone GD Seems it's about time darling, about time C We let all this go
[Verse 2] EmDG Everything must start again anew EmDGEm Everything just goes that way my friend DG Every king knows it to be true EmDGEmEm That every kingdom must one day come to an eh-eh-eh-end oh oh DGG Eh-eh-eh-end oh oh oooh, eh-eh-eh-end oh oh, EmEm Eh-eh-eh-end oh oh DGG CEm And the sun, she may be long gone GD Oh, lost to these memories we found CEm But she'll be here when it's all done GD When our bodies are lain beneath the ground
[Chorus] C Seems that everything that goes around GD Comes, comes around here C Seems that everything that stays, baby GDC Somehow gets me down again
[Verse 3] EmDG Everything must start again anew EmDGEm Everything just goes that way my friend DG Every king knows it to be true EmDGEmEm That every kingdom must one day come to an eh-eh-eh-end oh oh DGG Eh-eh-eh-end oh oh oooh, eh-eh-eh-end oh oh, EmEm Eh-eh-eh-end oh oh DGG
