Belle and Sebastian is a band from Glasgow. Led by guitarist/vocalist Stuart Murdoch, the seven-piece band has an intimate, majestic sound that is equal parts folk-rock and '60s pop. Murdoch has a gift not only for whimsy and surrealism, but also for odd, unsettling lyrical detail which keeps the songs grounded in a tangible reality.
Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Belle and Sebastian released their first two albums in 1996: Tigermilk, recorded over three days
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
This song is off of the "Books" EP. It has a lot of instruments playing a lot of different things, but here are the main chords, and the bass tabs can be found on this site too. Enjoy!

Hey lady, meet my mum and dad You're a strange aberration In this land of potted plants and boxlike houses Where the girls like mouses Breathe a long sigh of resignation You resign your self to keep on growing Like the seeds you're sowing You're a strange apparition In this land of grammar schools and gala days The ladies set in their ways You had a long conversation With a kid next door He's a little slow But in your favour, it shows Cancel all operations Tell your friends to move out to the sticks.
EmB Listen lady, leave the boy home C Cancel all operations BEm Tell your friends there's more to you than this.
BAM, it's a lot of fun on a piano. For any other tricky B&S I would hit up this site: http://www.missprint.org/sinister/chords.html
It didn't have this song, and a few others, but it's got the majority. If you would like to request another B&S song you can't figure out, I'd be happy to help! [email protected]
