Throwing Muses is a post-punk alternative rock band formed in 1981 in Newport, Rhode Island, United States, that toured and recorded extensively until 1997, when its members began concentrating more on other projects. Originally fronted by two distinctive lead singers, Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly, stepsisters who both wrote the group's songs, Donelly left in 1991 to form Belly and, since Throwing Muses reformed in 2003, has guested during concerts and recordings.

This version of CBC is from the limited edition live KH performance that came with Red Heaven. The `Chains Changed' version differs slightly (a) the lyric structure is slightly different and (b) there is a slight intro. Also the lyrics are only approximate.
G You move me and the chains changed Em I take a nervous space
month after month C after month D mouth after mouth after mouth G I said a nightmare Em Complete with barking dogs and coke machines C Keep feeding my baby chicken D Keep touching like spacemen G I'm obviously confused, I said Em I'm more, more worried for you than for me CD And he (?) G Cry baby cry Em Cry, fight it C I'm not ever getting out D I am always getting sicker G F7: F7 ?Love that person who laugh at me Em I found last September in a notebook C It was too much for the book to hold D That's how come I wore raincoats G I said first a suicide Em without a note and now a note without a suicide CD First a look without a note and a look without a suicide G She said maybe death is my answer EmCD But love is the answer of life G Cry baby cry cry Em I fight it C I'm not ever getting out D I am always getting sicker G She said first a suicide Em without a note and now a note without a suicide C I said maybe death is my answer DG But love is the answer of life.
