The National is a Brooklyn-based indie rock band formed in 1999, by friends from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. The band's lyrics are written and sung by Matt Berninger in a distinctive, deep baritone. The rest of the band is composed of two pairs of brothers: Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, keyboards), Bryce Dessner (guitar), Scott Devendorf (bass, guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).
Their self-titled debut album"The National" (Brassland 2001) was recorded and released before they had played even a single show.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
I made up the notation because the chord names were long (Em7sus4) and frequent. Here’s the deal: you start the measure with a down strum on G or Em7. Then strum up on the next beat to accent the root note an octave up, then you add an “A” note and strum up to accent, and then add the a “B” and strum up.
You should mess around with the way you strum to fit the music and not just strum on the beats. Selectively play the high and low part of the chord, or switch to finger picking. Notes at the bottom.
Other chords you might want to know: G/B=X2000X Gadd9=32020X
