The Innocence Mission are a folk band featuring the beautiful, mesmerizing vocals of Karen Peris, and the guitar backing of her husband, Don Peris.
Their signature style is dreamy slow songs, with beautiful melodies.
The original band, including Mike Bitts (bass), and Steve Brown (drums), was formed in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the early 80s when the members met during a Catholic school production of Godspell. Although all members of the band have contributed musically, Karen Peris does most of the group's writing.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

CAPO 1
ABm I prize the cloudy, tearing sky A for the thoughts that flap and fly. Bm For staying in and reading by. A For sitting under.
Bm I read a book of Madeline A and her friends in two straight lines, Bm in Paris, in a house with vines
over its old face. E Far, far is Paris... D and the sky is dark with mystery.
A AND D (I THINK)
Try, catch the thoughts that flap and fly in the cloudy, tearing sky, that touch and stir and won't be tied- and try to speak them.
I think of my old Flower Sky. Of us, when we thought we were spies. Of bobbing eggs in Easter dyes. Of walks in London. Try, try to hold my love for you, it knows no measure. ED This is a day for hearing bagpipes
somewhere playing. ED This is a day for hearing sarabands EDED and hiding away.
Sky, I hold my tears if you do. Starling thoughts, go over me.
