[Verse] G Well I G Lowered the flag and broke in my back CG Gave up singing to hum G And went away to the forest to fall CG Where everything's called to be born again
[Chorus] Gmaj7 Oh, the autumn leaves, saw them sweep the sky Gmaj7 For a holy unsentimental while G6 Thought that mother nature had smiled on me Gmaj7 Come to find out she's always showing her teeth C Cut from the low lands, back to the old plan D Spent my minutes like I hadn't given up
[Riff x2] GC G
[Verse] G Well I'm G Scattered and close, and heavily dosed CG By my ego so much G I saw again, how you can steady your hand CG But a shadow still lands on anything you touch
[Chorus] Gmaj7 Oh, the autumn leaves don't shake at all Gmaj7 Once they give up on the branch they hold G6 Yeah there's nothing wrong with a quiver, I guess Gmaj7 Pretty soon you're gonna have to get on with it C Off with the old skin, back to the medicine D Late small minutes that I haven't given up
[Riff x1] G
[Outro] C Yeah you cut from the low lands, back to the old plan D Spend my minutes while I can, just telling you
[Riff x1] G
[Outro] C That if you're watching me all night almost fall D My late small minutes that I haven't given up
