The Beautiful South were a British pop group formed in 1989, from the ashes of Hull, England group The Housemartins. The band was put together by lead singer, Paul Heaton, and drummer, Dave Hemingway. They were joined by Sean Welch (Bass), Dave Stead (Drums) and Dave Rotheray (Guitar). Rotheray also co-writes the songs with Heaton.
In The Beautiful South, Heaton shared the lead singer's role with Hemingway and female singer Briana Corrigan to create a trio of lead vocalists.

GC Through ugly pints and Sunday breath FGC/E Sit men whose stare is cold as breath GC Through wide lapels and glued up eyes FGC Through made up kids and made up wives
C7 Sitting in the heart of them F Is a man who's not like other men C7 Don't you know just who I am FG7 A nod, a wink, I am the domino man.
GC And if you pull a double one FGC I'll pack may bags and I'll be gone GC If you pull a three and four FGC I'm flying off to Singapore FGC Where women dance and tigers roar FGC I'm lying on a distant shore GC I'm living life as fast as I can FGFGC A nod, a wink, another drink, I am the domino man.
GC Through a twenty deep screen of humorists FGC/E Through slavering jaws and angry fists GC Through tales of mishap and the clickety-clack FGC Is a fully paid memeber of the brother of the tap
C7 Through heavy smoke and idle bets F Through heaving lungs and heavy debts C7 Sits a man who knows he can FG7 A nod, a wink, I am the domino man.
GC And if you pull a two and six FGC I'll pack my bags and take the risk GC And if you pull a four and five FGC They'll never take this man alive FGC I'll go far east and I'll survive FGC The market streets I'll duck and dive GC I'm living life as fast as I can FGFGC A nod, a wink, another drink, I am the domino man.
GCFGC And when he's off to sail the seven seas GCFGC He just stays indoors or hides up trees GCFGC He's been to places that you've never seen GG7 But his mind is blank and his passport's clean
