Mark Lanegan (nacido el 25 de noviembre de 1964 en Ellensburg, Washington) es un compositor y cantante conocido principalmente por su considerable éxito como solista y por haber formado parte de grupos como Screaming Trees y colaborar en grupos como Queens of the Stone Age o Mad Season.
En el año 1985, Lanegan decide formar una banda junto con los hermanos Conner, llamada Screaming Trees por el nombre de un pedal de distorsión para guitarra eléctrica.
