John Prine (born October 10, 1946 in Maywood, Illinois-died April 7, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee) was an American country/folk singer-songwriter who has achieved widespread critical (and some commercial) success since the early 1970s.
The son of William Prine and Verna Hamm, his grandfather had played guitar with Merle Travis and he started playing guitar himself at 14 years old. He was a postman for 5 years and spent a couple of years in the army before starting his musical career in the Chicago area.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
G Oh I get drunk most every night C Seems like all we do is fight G The more I drink D The less I feel blue G Sometimes I feel like an awful fool C Spendin' my life on an old bar stool GDG And yes I guess they oughta name a drink after you
Break: DC DG
G If this date were to be our last C I'd never sit down this glass G It'd take all the booze in the world D To forget you G You've left my heart a vacant lot C I'll fill it with another shot GDG And yes I guess they oughta name a drink after you
Break: DC DG
G Looks like I had my fill C Guess I better pay my bill GD When I started out I only meant to have a few G Someone just said that you left town C I better get a double round GDG And yes I guess they oughta name a drink after you GDG Yes I guess they oughta name a drink after you
