King Crimson is a progressive rock group from London, England, United Kingdom formed in 1968 by guitarist Robert Fripp and drummer Michael Giles. Though originally an all-British musical group, later members have included a number of Americans, most notably Adrian Belew, and Tony Levin. The name "King Crimson" was coined by Peter Sinfield as a synonym for Beelzebub, prince of demons.

[Verse 1] C#mG#m Earth, stream and tree encircled by sea F#mG#m Waves sweep the sand from my island. C#mF#m My sunsets fade. Field and glade G#m wait only for rain F#mG#m Grain after grain love erodes my C#mG#m High weathered walls which fend off the tide F#mG#mC#m Cradle the wind to my island.
[Verse 2]
Gaunt granite climbs where gulls wheel and glide Mournfully glide o'er my island. My dawn bride's veil, damp and pale, Dissolves in the sun. Love's web is spun - cats prowl, mice run Wreathe snatch-hand briars where owls know my eyes Violet skies touch my island, touch me.
[Chorus]
EA Beneath the wind turned wave EA Infinite peace EAE Islands join hands 'Neathe heaven's sea.
[Verse 3]
Dark harbour quays like fingers of stone Hungrily reach from my island. Clutch sailor's words - pearls and gourds Are strewn on my shore. Equal in love, bound in circles. Earth, stream and tree return to the sea Waves sweep sand from my island, from me.
