THE LAST DANCE (EL GITANO VIEJO) KEN HENSLEY
INTRO: AmGAmEmAmGFmaj7G AmGAmEmAmGFmaj7G
VERSE: AmGAmEm I met a sad old gypsy on the road to Berlin AmGFmaj7G By chance I got to spend a little time with him AmGAmEm Shared a few life stories on that dusty old train AmEm So I thought I'd take a minute Fmaj7GAm Just to share them again with you
AmGAmEmAmGFmaj7G AmGAmEmAmGFmaj7G
VERSE: AmGAmEm He talked of all the twists and turns he'd taken in life AmGFmaj7G And how his spirit clung to God to do what was right AmGAmEm Sure he got the prize but he never counted the cost AmEm Felt his pain as he shared with me Fmaj7GAm All that he had lost
AmGAmEmAmGFmaj7G
VERSE: AmGAmEm If you could only see what was there in his eyes AmGFmaj7G An eternity of wandering in search of the prize AmGAmEm He'd had it all, the money, all the fame and romance AmGCGAm Now he shed a tear as he faced the last dance
BREAK: Dm The blessing comes but once he said C But it's not for you, it must be shared Bb And if you keep it to yourself C You'll be no use to anyone else Dm And he who gives will take away C And you will face the same dark day Bb That even now is all my pain CEAm I'll never have this dance again
BREAK 2: CGDmC Chances, dances, how quickly this life passes AmF All our hopes and all our dreams E Get lost in all our selfish schemes CG You see, it's not about you, it's not about me DmC It's about loving something we can't see AmF It's all about what we are willing to share EF It's about our hearts and who lives there
VERSE: CmBb As the train rolled into the city CmBb He shook his head as if to say CmBb It's your turn now, just know the game AbBb That you're about to play CmBb And it seemed as if right there and then CmBb A light came to his eyes CmBb As he exchanged the dance of life AbBb For a far better prize
BREAK: DmCDmC And so the tired old gypsy drifted slowly away DmCBbC Beaten by the game he'd taught so many to play DmCDmC He said "I'd do it all again if I had the chance" DmC But I'm ready now for one more bow BbCBb I'll take the last dance
