John Gorka (born in July 1958) is an American contemporary folk musician. In 1991, Rolling Stone magazine called him "the pre-eminent male singer-songwriter of what has been dubbed the New Folk Movement.
Gorka was born in Edison, New Jersey. He received his first guitar as a Christmas gift, though Gorka alleges that his older brother stole it from him shortly thereafter. He eventually learned, instead, to play the banjo, and began performing in a folk music group at his church.

Christmas Bells - John Gorka
Capo 3
| C | G6 | Fmaj7-6 | AmG | F | AmG | FG | AmG | F | Fmaj7 |
CG6 I heard the bells on Christmas day Fmaj7-6 AmG Their old familiar carols play FAmG And wild and sweet, the words repeat FGAmG Of peace on earth, good will to men FGC Peace on earth, good will to men
CG6 I thought how, as the day had come Fmaj7-6 AmG The belfries of all Christendom FAmG Had rolled along the unbroken song FGAmG Of peace on earth, good will to men FGC Peace on earth, good will to men
Fmaj7-6 AmG And in despair, I bowed my head FAmG "There is no peace on earth," I said FAmG For hate is strong, and mocks the song FGAmG Of peace on earth, good will to men FGC Peace on earth, good will to men
| C | G6 | Fmaj7-6 | AmG | F | AmG | FG | AmG | F | Fmaj7 |
CG6 Then pealed the bells, more loud and deep Fmaj7-6 AmG God is not dead, nor doth he sleep FAmG The wrong shall fail, the right prevail FGAmG With peace on earth, good will to men FGC Peace on earth, good will to men
CG6 I heard the bells on Christmas day Fmaj7-6 AmG Their old familiar carols play FAmG Wild and sweet, the words repeat FGAmG Of peace on earth, good will to men FGC Peace on earth, good will to men FGAm Peace on earth, good will to men
