CC/BF I will come back for my things CC/BF Then I'll go the way I came CC/BFCG back down your crooked steps two at a time CC/BF And to the morning sun CC/BF I will call as I run CC/BFCG As if it waited for me now to shine FCGC This is my good fortune now at last FCGF This is all I never knew to ask of you DmGC To leave me with no love I might return. CC/BF I know where I could go CC/BF And work awhile, you never know CC/BFCG the change might be enough to set me free CC/BF I could leave tonight CC/BF And discover I was right CC/BFCG But now freer than I ever chose to be FCGC This is my good fortune now at last FCGF this is all I never knew to ask of you DmGC To leave me with no love I might return
SOLO
CC/BF I climb up on the side CC/BF Of the engine where I ride CC/BFCG It's warmer than all that I leave behind CC/BF I shake my collar free CC/BF And hold myself against my knee CC/BFCG And I pray tonight's the peaceful, dreamless kind. FCGC This is my good fortune now at last FCGF This is all I never knew to ask of you DmGAm To leave me with no love I might return FGC This is my good fortune
