DEm You'll take my life but I'll take yours too DEm You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through DC So when you're waiting for the next attack DEm You'd better stand there's no turning back
DEm The bugle sounds the charge begins DEm But on this battlefield no one wins DC The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath DEm As I plunge on into certain death
DEm Ooooooooh DEm Ooooooooh
DEm The horse he sweats with fear we break to run DEm The mighty roar of the Russian guns DC And as we race towards the human wall DEm The scream of pain as my comrades fall
DEm We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground DEm And the Russians fire another round DC We get so near yet so far away CD We won't live to fight another day
DEm Ooooooooh DEm Ooooooooh

DEm And as I lay there gazing at the sky DEm My body's numb and my throat is dry DC And as I lay forgotten and alone DEm Without a tear I draw my parting groan
