The following is what I believe are the chords for Jimmy Buffett's "Fruitcakes". Artist: Jimmy Buffett Song:"Fruitcakes" Album:Fruitcakes C: 032010 D:000232 G: 320033
No Chord (Percussions instuments, slide guitar) You know, I was talkin' to my friend Desdomona the other day, she runs the space station/bake shop down near Boomtown, and she told me that human beings are flawed individuals. That the cosmic bakers took us out of the oven a little too early, and that's the reason we're as crazy as we are, an d I believe it. Take, for example, when you go to the movies these days, you know. They try to sell you this jumbo drink, eight extra ounces of watered down cherry Coke for an extra 25 cents. I don't want it. I don't want that much organization in my life. I don't want other people thinking for me. I want...my Junior Mints! Where did Junior Mints go in the movie? I don't want a 12-pound Nestle's crunch for 25 dollars! I want Junior Mints! We need more Fruitcakes in this world! Less bakers! We need peple that care! I'm mad as hell, and I don't wanna take it anymore!
Chorus: CDGCDG Fruitcakes in the kitchen, fruitcakes on the street
CDGCD G Struttin' naked through the crosswalk in the middle of the week
CDGCD G Half-baked cookies in the oven, half baked people on the bus
CDGCDG There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us
Verse1:
CDGCDG
Paradise, lost and found. Paradise, take a look around
CDGCDG I was out in California where I hear they have it all
CDGC DG They got riots, fires, and mudslides. They got sushi in the mall
CDGCDG Water bars and brontosaurs, Chinese modern lust
CDGCD G Shake and bake life with the quake, the secret's in the crust
To Chorus:
Verse 2: Spoken: Speakin' of Fruitcakes, how 'bout the government?
CDGCD G "We lost or martian rocketship", the high-paid sposkesman said
CDGCD G Looks like that silly rocket ship has lost its cone-shaped head
CDGCDG We spend 90 jillion dollars, tryin' a get a look at Mars
CDGCDG
I hear Universal laughter ringin' out among the stars
Chorus: CDGCDG Fruitcakes in the Galaxy, Fruitcakes on the Earth
CDGCD G Struttin' naked towards Eternity, we've been that way since birth
CDGCD G Half-baked cookies in the oven, half-baked people on the bus
CDGCDG There's a little bit of Fruitcake left in everyone of us
The rest of the song obvuiosly continues in this pattern. It's not very complicated, but it's fun to play. See you in Margaritaville!
