The person behind Human Petting Zoo, Rayne Blakeman, describes her music as "uke punk with attitude". Rayne is from Northeastern Ohio and plays ukulele as well as various percussion instruments and the kazoo. Human Petting Zoo's lyrical content is very honest and focuses on topics such as (but not limited to) anxiety, writers block, family problems, and being straight edge. Aside from Human Petting Zoo, Rayne is also in other bands, such as Small Mammals, Dumpster Fashion, The Cellar Dwellers, and Autophobe.
