At least two artists have used the name "Genesis": 1. A British progessive rock band 2. A 60s psychedelic band from Los Angeles, California For the Colombian band, please see Génesis.
1. Genesis formed in 1967 in Godalming, Surrey (United Kingdom) and was one of the most popular progressive rock bands in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. During the 1970s, Peter Gabriel was the lead singer until his departure, when drummer Phil Collins stepped up to the mic and replaced him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------- SONG: Home By The Sea ----------------------------------------------------------------------- (intro) 4 bars of Em. I usually play it on the 7th fret.
EmD Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall DEm stealing thru the dark of night EmD Climbing thru a window, stepping to the floor DEm checking to the left and the right EmD Picking up the pieces, putting them away DCAm something doesn't feel quite right
EmCAmEm Help me someone, let me out of here CAmDBm then out of the dark was suddenly heard CAmEm welcome to the Home by the Sea
Coming out the woodwork, thru the open door pushing from above and below shadows without substance, in the shape of men round and down and sideways they go adrift without direction, eyes that hold despair then as one they sign and they moan
Help us someone, let us out of here living here so long undisturbed dreaming of the time we were free so many years ago before the time when we first heard welcome to the Home by the Sea
EmGBmD Sit down Sit down CGBmD as we relive out lives in what we tell you
(Bridge: 1 bar for each chord) Em |Em |Am |Em |Cadd9 |Em |Gadd2 |G |F |F |C |C |Am |Em |Bm |Em |
Images of sorrow, pictures of delight things that go to make up a life endless days of summer longer nights of gloom waiting for the morning light scenes of unimportance like photos in a frame things that go to make up a life
Help us someone, let us out of here living here so long undisturbed dreaming of the time we were free so many years ago before the time when we first heard welcome to the Home by the Sea
Sit down Sit down as we relive out lives in what we tell you let us relive out lives in what we tell you
Sit down sit down Em cos you won't get away G so with us you will stay BmD for the rest of your days. So sit down As we relive out lives in what we tell you Let us relive out lives in what we tell you
