Dr. Dog is a indie rock group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania which formed in 1999. The current lineup consists of Scott "Taxi" McMicken (vocals, guitar), Toby "Tables" Leaman (vocals, bass), Zach "Text" Miller (keyboards, guitar), Frank "Thanks" McElroy (guitar) and Eric "Teach" Slick (drums).
"There's a little folk, blues, indie rock, soul, bluegrass--and a whole lot of down-home harmonizing. It conjures images of old friends sitting on a porch swapping instruments and just letting the tape recorder run." - Doug Wallen

[Verse 1] Bmaj7Emaj7 In a perfect world of my own design Emaj7Bmaj7 I'd get rid of the sun in favor of the moonshine Bmaj7Emaj7 And if the natural order were mine to define Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 The light in the tunnel would be a neon sign
[Chorus] Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 'Cause I've always loved the nighttime, it feels like mine Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 If it were only up to me, the sun would never ever shine
[Verse 2] Bmaj7Emaj7 Well the moon's invitation is gentle and it's kind. Emaj7Bmaj7 And it leaves everyone alone and to me, that is divine Bmaj7Emaj7 With it's modest demonstration, I feel so much less confined Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 And towards that kind of light, I will always be inclined
[Chorus] Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 'Cause I've always loved the nighttime, it feels like mine Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 If it were only up to me, the sun would never ever shine
[Interlude] Emaj7F#Emaj7F#Emaj7F#Bmaj7
[Outro] Bmaj7Emaj7 If I could go out on a limb and make so bold a leap Emaj7Bmaj7F# I'd tell the sun to go down and sink into the deep Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 'Cause I've always loved the nighttime, it feels like mine Emaj7Bmaj7F#7 If it were only up to me, the sun would never ever shine
