Linda Eder was born in Brainerd, Minnesota on February 3, 1961. She began her career as a night-club entertainer before gaining national fame on the popular show "Star Search." She was undefeated for twelve weeks running before leaving the show for a Broadway career.
She met Frank Wildhorn who immediately fell in love with her and her incredible voice. He set about writing the musical "Jekyll and Hyde" with her in mind for the role of Lucy. Although the show did rather poorly, Linda was a sensation.
