The Newbeats were a popular music vocal trio from the Southern US, best known for their 1964 hit, "Bread and Butter", which was released on the Hickory Records label. According to the Bread and Butter Songfacts they comprised Larry Henley (singer / songwriter), and brothers Dean and Mark Mathis (instrumentals, backing vocals). Larry Henley is much better known for a later song he co-wrote - The Wind Beneath My Wings.
