The Monroes fue una banda de new wave formada en San Diego en 1982. Su estlo puede realcionarse con bandas como Modern English o The Psichedelic Furs. Fueron conocidos por su single "What Do All The People Know." La ormación era Eric Denton (teclados) / Bob "Monroe" Davis (bajo), Jesus Ortiz (voz)/ Rusty Jones (guitarra) y Jonnie Gilstrap (batería)
