Paul Slade started playing the guitar at the age of 9 and when he was 13 formed his first group. When he left school in 1965 he joined The Ray King Soul Band as bass guitarist and backing singer. For the following two years he toured England playing on gigs with big names such as: Ike & Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Cliff, Elton John and Jimi Hendrix.
After playing at "The Revolution Club" in London in 1967 he was offered a recording and management contract and recorded his first solo singles with Decca records.
