Created at the end of 1993 in Santiago, Chile, by Pablo Ugarte (former UPA) and Colombina Parra (daughter of the poet Nicanor Parra), they recruited James Frazier (bass) and the brothers Martín Lara (guitar) and Matías Lara (drums).
The short lived project known as Los Barracos disbanded in 1995, after opening for the Rolling Stones in Santiago, releasing only one album, called Ex, under the chilean EMI label.
