Robert Kelly Slater (born February 11, 1972) is an American professional surfer, author, actor, model, businessman, and innovator, best known for his unprecedented 11 world surfing championships.[2][3] He is widely regarded as the greatest professional surfer of all time.
Slater grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where he still resides. He is the son of Judy Moriarity and Stephen Slater. He has two brothers, Sean and Stephen, and a daughter, Taylor, born in 1996.
