Mexican singer Francisco Xavier achieved fame in the 1980s with a string of pop records aimed at the teen market. He later transitioned from a pure teen idol to a more mainstream performer through several collections of romantic boleros, including "Inolvidables a la Manera de Francisco Xavier" (1990); "Te Deseo Amor" (1992); and "Amor Mio" (1994). Following the release of "Te Deseo Amor Vol. II" in 1997, he retired from performing and moved into politics.
