Cultura Profética is a Puerto Rican reggae band that debuted in 1996. They have toured in Puerto Rico and across Central America and the United States. Their lyrics rely mostly on socio-political and ecological issues. The band's first album, Canción de Alerta, was recorded in the Tuff Gong studios at Jamaica with Bob Marley's sound engineer. The album was a critical and commercial success with several singles being featured on radio. For their second album, Ideas Nuevas, they started fusing reggae with other rhythms like bossa nova and jazz.
