Born in Argentina in 1957, Daniel Melingo studied clarinet and musicology on Buenos Aires Music academy. In 1978, fleeing away from military dictatorship, he moved to Brasil, where he played with Agua de Milton Nascimento . Four years later he moved back to Argentina and joined protest-rock bands Los Twist and Los Abuelos de la Nada.
In the middle eighties, during the cultural wave of Movida movement, he moved to Madrid to share unbridled festive energy, joining punk band Torredos Muertos.
