My real name is Daoud, thanks to an Egyptian grandfather and a jazz song. I can’t say it the way Egyptians do, but it has the same vowel sound as “Raoul” (emphasis on the second syllable). I was born in New York in 1984, and have been living in Washington D.C. since early 2011. I started performing as Art Sorority for Girls when I was about eighteen (my high-school girlfriend Hannah thought of the name). Since then I’ve rotated through a half-dozen different lineups, from solo act to power-pop sextet and back again.
Four years of hard work! This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!
