Altiplano

Altiplano was formed in Vallenaren, Chile in 1976, and, with the guidance of the band Diabla Boliviana, they were able to learn the technique and mystique of playing wind instruments, which would mark their own musical style. By 1979, Altiplano had performed all over Chile. Recorded their disc, "El cantar Andino," and were even invited to perform on Ecuadorian television and record their LP, "Altiplano al Ritmo Endiablado."

Between 1980 and 1984 the group dedicated itself to musical research and learning about Ecuadorian culture.
